Mick is an applied physics engineer and an honorably discharged Naval Air Reservist. Betty spent her professional career as an insurance underwriter. They briefly lived in Culver City, California where Mick worked on radar technology. They returned to Chicago and purchased their two-flat in Bridgeport in 1979. Their son Michael E.
